October 10, 2005 – BEI Duncan Electronics, an operating division of BEI Technologies, Inc., has announced the appointment of Dr. Demetris A. Agrotis, as Vice President and General Manager in a strategic step to further strengthen new product development and competitive positioning of the company’s position sensor business. Duncan is a leader in supplying major automotive and heavy equipment manufacturers with a variety of contacting and non-contacting sensors. The company is also an early innovator of reliable, custom-packaged sensors including major applications across avionics, marine, industrial controls and medical equipment position sensing installations. In the 1990’s, BEI Duncan emerged as a major supplier to automotive and heavy equipment manufacturers worldwide.

Dr. Agrotis takes the lead of Duncan’s management team, from his most recently held position as Director of the Delphi Mexico Technical Center, in Juarez, Mexico, and Chief Engineer for Sensors & Actuators of the Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems Division of Delphi. His positions prior to this were within General Motors & Delphi operating groups over a fifteen-year period. He was responsible for product development, validation and manufacturing. He served as Chairperson for Delphi’s Sensing Center of Expertise (COE), and was also a member of their smart sensor and actuator team. Dr. Agrotis holds both a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University He holds three patents. Dr. Agrotis resides in Irvine, California with his wife and 4 daughters.
