For over four decades, BEI Duncan Electronics has been a manufacturer of linear and rotary position sensors. Using various combinations of innovative, high durability, conductive plastics and specialized resistive wire , our products have met many demanding applications involving harsh environments and long life requirements. Solutions include capabilities exceeding 10 million cycles and operating temperatures to 300 degrees Celsius.

BEI Duncan produces industry's most cost-effective and reliable "contact" and "non-contacting" sensors (precision potentiometric devices; position, indicating, resistive or voltage reading devices, including encoders) for a broad range of applications. From automotive to avionics, consumer to robotics, instrumentation to heavy equipment, BEI Duncan products fill an important niche wherever accuracy, reliablility, space-conscious devices are needed.

Duncan's Precision Rotary Sensors are classified by type of resistive technology; wirewound coil, hybrid coils and conductive plastic (thick-film) elements.  Sensor type significantly influences circuit efficiency and determines performance, reliability and cost effectiveness (see type description for selection of most appropriate materials).

LINEAR POSITION SENSORS

BEI Duncan Electronics’ linear conductive plastic, potentiometric solutions feature many of the same options as our rotary devices. Linear products offer options capable of over 1 meter of travel and 1 million meters of operational life at temperatures to 300 degrees Celsius. These devices can be incorporated into hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders, installed on circuit boards, or simply mounted to mechanical assemblies. As with any of our sensor solutions custom/adapted linear solutions are available with many of the same options as our rotary solutions. Element and Contact Assemblies are also available.
